Find Kendall County Court Dates

Need a Kendall County court date? Start with whichever court actually owns the case, since dates show up in several places: a district calendar, a justice court docket, a city citation, or a filed notice. Kendall County splits its calendar among trial courts rather than posting one master list. Online tools help narrow the hunt. Still, the newest order plus the assigned clerk or court coordinator remain the best confirmation before you travel or respond to any Kendall County court date.

Kendall County Court Calendars Explained

No single Kendall County calendar covers every court. District settings belong to the 451st or 498th Judicial District Court. The justice courts keep precinct dockets, and JP2 publishes the county's clearest public calendar table. Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch municipal matters follow the court named on the citation. Each channel answers a narrower question than a full case file.

The 451st District Court and 498th District Court pages provide the current district routes. Coordinators there handle setting logistics. The District Clerk keeps the filings and records. A hearing shown online may move. So trust the latest filed notice or order and direct court confirmation over an old screen.

Kendall County District Calendar Split

Kendall County now runs two district courts. The 498th arrived in 2025. Older county text describing just one district court can mislead. It can send a searcher down the wrong path. Both current pages list broad civil, family, felony, juvenile, probate, adoption, and related jurisdiction. The assigned court, not the subject list alone, tells you which calendar to check.

District setting contacts

Begin with the assigned 451st or 498th coordinator. For the filed notice, case record, or court assignment, contact the Kendall County District Clerk.

Setting requests follow the court's published local procedure. They begin only after the motion or pleading is filed. The requester then hands the coordinator a case number. The request also carries the kind of setting and a time estimate. Once the court supplies a date, the parties confer and file a notice setting the matter. That sequence keeps an informal date talk from being mistaken for a final setting.

Finding Your Kendall County Court Date

Begin with the case paper or citation. It names the court. Then use the matching official channel, since a name alone can produce false matches while a full case or citation number gives a far stronger check.

  1. Read the court name and preserve the full case, cause, or citation number, including its punctuation and prefix.
  2. Check the assigned district calendar, the current JP2 docket, the proper city portal, or available Hearings results in re:SearchTX.
  3. Open the case detail or filed notice and compare the date, time, court, setting type, and status.
  4. Call the District Clerk, County Clerk, JP clerk, municipal clerk, or district coordinator when the page is absent, stale, or unclear. A party's attorney may also confirm the filed notice.
  5. Check again shortly before court. A posted list, printed docket call, or saved screen can be changed by a later order.

Visit the District Clerk counter at 201 E San Antonio Ave, Suite 201, Boerne. Posted hours run 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The office takes targeted record-search requests through its online form, and requests may also follow the clerk's mail or counter instructions. For county-level misdemeanor or probate information, try the County Clerk first.

Kendall County JP2 Docket Fields

The JP2 calendar is a useful model for reading any Kendall County court date. Its public table labels each row with several fields. They are DATE, TIME, CAUSE #, PLAINTIFF/DEFENDANT, CASE STATUS, and CASE TYPE. Those fields locate an event. They do not replace the pleadings or the signed order. Read public examples without copying party names or identifiers.

CAUSE #
The local case identifier. Keep the year, precinct or case-type prefix, and punctuation intact.
CASE STATUS
A snapshot such as reset, dismissed, or trial set. The filed order controls its legal effect.
CASE TYPE
The category or event, including debt trial, eviction hearing, small claims, or pretrial hearing.
RESET
A prior event moved to another date. It does not mean the case ended.

The docket pages are year-specific. The 2025 JP2 docket is an archive, and the 2026 page is the live one. Always note the year shown before relying on a row.

Note: A status label only summarizes an event. Get the public order or judgment for the exact result and terms.

How to Read a Court Setting

A setting is just an appointment on a court's schedule. It is not proof a trial occurred or judgment was entered. Kendall County calendars may show less detail than the filed notice, so match each field to the same case before treating it as your next appearance.

DateThe scheduled event date, which differs from the filing, response, recorded, or disposition date.
TimeThe listed event or docket-call time. Confirm arrival instructions with the assigned court.
CourtroomThe room or hearing site on the current notice. Kendall County courts use more than one building.
JudgeThe assigned court or presiding judge, subject to the court's current assignment.
Setting TypeThe event purpose, such as pretrial hearing, submission, show-cause hearing, or trial.

A trial-set label only means the matter landed on the schedule. An eviction hearing may address a distinct issue, and a show-cause setting asks a party to answer for stated noncompliance. Read the notice and public case record for the scope.

No Kendall County Master Calendar

Because no universal Kendall County court calendar exists, court level is the key search choice. Felony cases go to the District Clerk. District civil and family settings point there too, with the assigned district court controlling the hearing. A misdemeanor or county probate matter points first to the County Clerk. Eviction, debt, small-claims, and many fine-only cases point to the correct JP precinct.

Municipal response dates work differently. Boerne says police may need two to three business days to file a citation. The response date is printed below the signature line. Fair Oaks Ranch treats the citation appearance date as the deadline. It requires the initial appearance in person. Neither city date is a district hearing listing.

The statewide re:SearchTX portal adds a second layer. After sign-in or registration, a user may search Hearings and inspect available details. County participation, case type, history, and restrictions can limit results. A blank statewide result, in other words, is not proof that no setting exists.

Kendall County Continuances and Resets

Kendall County dockets use two words for moved hearings. A reset simply gives an event a new time. A continuance postpones a setting through the court's formal process. Neither one dismisses the case. You might see the change as a new row on the calendar, a status note, or a later filed notice. The assigned court must approve any move first.

Where you confirm the new date depends on the court. District litigants should call the coordinator and read the newest notice or order on file. JP matters go through that precinct clerk, along with the current year's docket if one is posted. Municipal litigants follow the city's own form and appearance rules. Fair Oaks Ranch, for one, does not handle resets or initial appearances by fax.

One caution about timing. Publication lag can leave an old court date sitting on the page after it was moved. Save the case number. Then ask the clerk which filed notice controls. The fuller Kendall County case lookup process can help you pull the related case record before you make that call.

Kendall County Child Protection Dates

Child protection cases run on their own public schedule. They sit apart from the general Kendall County district calendar and the JP2 list. The Child Protection Court of South Texas publishes its settings through CPDockets. The District Clerk page links to that specialty route.

Seeing a hearing on a public calendar does not open the whole file. Juvenile and family material may be restricted. Texas Family Code Chapter 58 protects juvenile records subject to statutory exceptions. Treat the calendar as scheduling information only, and ask the clerk about access to anything underneath it.

Kendall County Calendar Cancellations

A hearing vanishes from a Kendall County docket for many reasons. It may have been reset, canceled, disposed, moved to another court, or replaced by a later notice. The missing row tells you none of that. It certainly does not prove a dismissal.

Work from the newest docket entry first. Then call the clerk or coordinator with the exact case number, the old date, and the type of setting. Skip the cached search page entirely. If an order changed the date, ask for the public copy. Texas court records can be sealed or restricted, so a clerk may confirm your date while withholding some filings.

Best confirmation: The most recent filed notice or order and the assigned Kendall County court control over an archived calendar or saved screen.

If You Miss a Court Setting

Act quickly if you miss a Kendall County court date. Call the court named on your notice or citation, and ask where the case stands and what to do next. Give the case number. If you have a lawyer, loop in counsel as well. Remember that the clerk explains access and procedure. The clerk cannot pick a remedy. Nor can the clerk hand out legal advice.

Missed a setting? A missed appearance may lead to a failure-to-appear charge, warrant, bond issue, or other case-specific consequence.

Call the assigned clerk or court promptly and confirm whether a new date or court action has been entered.

Seek advice from a licensed attorney when the missed setting may affect a warrant, bond, plea, or deadline.

Match your outreach to the court. City citations follow the municipal court's own instructions. JP tickets go to the precinct printed on the citation. District matters belong with the District Clerk and the assigned coordinator. Never assume a payment portal, voicemail, or phone request counts as an appearance. The court must say so in plain terms.
